Udaipur destination wedding cost depends on venue type and exclusivity, guest rooms, travel and transfers, season and the scale of décor and food. Gātha's planning fee starts at Rs 2,00,000 for weddings of Rs 30 to 60 lakh, Rs 3,00,000 for Rs 60 lakh to 1 crore, and Rs 5,00,000 for Rs 1 crore and above.
Why this page prints no single Udaipur wedding total
Udaipur destination wedding cost cannot be given as one number. The same guest list costs very different amounts depending on the property, the dates, the number of nights and how much of the wedding is produced from scratch. Gātha does not publish typical ranges for Udaipur and will not guess them. What you can get from this page is the structure: the lines that make up a quote, which of them move most, and what to ask about each.
The wedding budget is the family's overall investment. Gātha's fee is separate from it and is described below. The sections that follow assume that you are comparing two or three real quotes for the same dates.
The main cost drivers for a wedding in Udaipur
| Cost line | What moves it | Ask |
|---|---|---|
| Venue hire | Type of property, spaces used, number of days, exclusivity, date | What is included in the hire, and for which hours? |
| Guest rooms | Number of rooms, room types, nights, block size | What is the release date, and is there a minimum I must pay for? |
| Food and drink | Guest count, number of meals, in-house or outside, bar | Is there a per-guest rate, and what happens if numbers change? |
| Décor and production | Scale, flowers, structures, lighting, sound, venue rules | Who builds, who removes, who pays for damage? |
| Travel and transfers | How guests arrive, distance between venues, vehicle types | Who pays, and for which journeys? |
| Entertainment | Artists, travel for artists, number of functions | Are artist travel and stay in the figure? |
| Planning fee | Overall investment in the wedding | What does the fee cover? |
The first three lines usually account for most of a destination wedding's spend, though the order changes with the design. A wedding with a small guest list and an elaborate design leans on production. A wedding with a long guest list leans on rooms and food.

Begin your application →Venue type and exclusivity
A palace-style or heritage property, a lake-view resort, a farmhouse and a banquet hall price themselves differently, as the guide to wedding venues in Udaipur explains. Two features move the cost more than the label does.
The first is exclusivity. Taking the whole property for the duration is a different product from taking a lawn on a shared property, and a quote should say which one it is. The second is what the venue forces you to buy. If food, décor or sound must come from the venue, you lose the chance to compare, and the quote becomes a single line. If outside vendors are allowed, the fees that apply to them become a line of their own.
Guest rooms and block bookings
For a destination wedding, rooms are often the heaviest and least visible cost. A block booking holds a number of rooms for a number of nights. The family is usually responsible for the block unless the contract says otherwise, and some properties apply a minimum.
Four details change the figure: the number of nights guests stay, the mix of suites and standard rooms, which family members you host and which pay for their own stay, and the release date for unused rooms. Decide early which guests are hosted. A family that has not decided will find the rooms line growing as the list does.
If the main property cannot hold everyone, the overflow goes to nearby hotels, and the shuttle between them becomes another cost to price. More on this is in the guide on destination wedding guest accommodation.
Travel, transfers and artists
Guest travel is a decision before it is a cost. Some families pay for all guest travel, some for the close family only and some for none. Whatever the decision, transfers inside Udaipur are a cost the host usually carries: airport and station pickups, runs between properties and the baraat vehicles.
Artists and vendors who travel to the city add to their own fees. Ask whether a quote includes their journey, stay and local transport, or whether those arrive as extras later. A band or anchor from out of town is a good example: the performance fee looks reasonable until the travel and stay are added.
Season and dates
Season shapes both availability and rates. The cooler months, roughly November to February, are the most requested, so they are the least flexible. Weekend dates in those months are usually asked for first. Summer and the monsoon, roughly July to September, bring heat and rain and change what a plan must include: covered spaces, cooling and a fallback for every outdoor function.
Being flexible on the date is the single easiest way to learn what a property can offer. Ask for quotes on two or three dates and compare the lines, not just the totals.
How to read a quote line by line
- Check the dates, hours and spaces on the first page. A quote that does not name them is not a quote for your wedding.
- Look for what is excluded. Taxes, service charges, outside vendor fees, power backup and overtime are common places for extras. Ask whether taxes are included, and do not assume.
- Find the minimums: minimum guests, minimum nights, minimum spend. Ask what happens if you fall short.
- Read the payment schedule and the cancellation terms together. The question is how much you have paid by the time your own plans become firm.
- Ask for the guest-count tolerance: how many more or fewer guests the rate allows without repricing.
- Compare the same units. One quote may be per guest and another per function. Convert both to the same basis before you compare.
A planner reads these documents for you. The page on planning a wedding in Udaipur shows where that fits in the work.
Gātha's planning fee
Gātha's planning fee is tiered by the overall investment in the wedding.
| Overall investment | Planning fee |
|---|---|
| Rs 30 to 60 lakh | Rs 2,00,000 onwards |
| Rs 60 lakh to 1 crore | Rs 3,00,000 onwards |
| Rs 1 crore and above | Rs 5,00,000 onwards |
The fee covers design, planning and direction. Venue, décor and vendor costs sit inside the family's own budget, and the team shows them transparently. Engagements, milestone birthdays and corporate events begin lower. Gātha does not take weddings with a total budget under Rs 30 lakh, and it does not offer venue booking on its own.
The fee works the same way in every city. Only the cost drivers change, and the Goa destination wedding cost guide shows a different set. For the fee itself, see wedding planner cost.
What to do next
Send the application form with your date window, guest estimate and the investment you have in mind. The team reads it, checks the dates and replies within two working days. If there is a fit, a call follows, and quotations are drawn only after that. Until then, the most useful thing a family can do is shortlist two venue types and write down which guests are hosted.
