A Goa wedding package is a bundle from a venue that usually covers the space for set functions, a menu, an agreed number of rooms and basic decor or sound. Decor upgrades, outside vendors, guest travel and extra functions are often excluded. A planner works for the family, not the venue. Gātha does not sell packages.
Goa wedding packages: what the word usually means
A Goa wedding package is a venue's own offer. The property bundles the parts it controls, such as the space, food and rooms, and quotes them together for a set of functions and a guest count. Packages differ a great deal from one property to the next, so the word tells you very little until you see the inclusions list.
This guide explains how to read one. It carries no prices, because inclusions and rates are set by each venue and change with the date and the guest count. For what moves the overall cost, see the guide to Goa destination wedding cost.
Usually included, often left out
| Area | Often in the package | Often outside it |
|---|---|---|
| Space | The lawn, hall or beach area for the named functions | Extra functions, extra hours, setup and breakdown days |
| Food and drink | A fixed menu for a stated number of guests | Menu changes, live counters, extra guests, bar upgrades |
| Rooms | A set number of rooms for a set number of nights | Extra rooms, extra nights, upgrades, vendor and crew rooms |
| Decor | Basic stage, seating and floral | Custom design, 3D layouts, specialty lighting, installations |
| Sound and lighting | A standard system | Artists, DJs, stage sound, upgraded lighting |
| Guest travel | Sometimes an airport pickup | Coaches, local shuttles, travel desks |
| Coordination | A venue coordinator for the property's own services | Management of outside vendors and the guest experience |
| Taxes and service charges | Sometimes stated, sometimes added later | Check whether the figure is inclusive |
The left column varies from property to property. Treat it as a pattern to check, not a promise about any one venue.

Begin your application →A package and a planner do different jobs
A package is something a venue sells. A planner is someone the family hires. The venue's events team looks after the venue's services and the venue's interests: its spaces, its rules, its timings. A planner looks after the family's whole wedding, including how those services fit with decor, artists, guests and the schedule.
Gātha does not sell packages and does not offer venue booking on its own. The planning fee covers design, planning and direction, and is tiered by the overall investment in the wedding: Rs 2,00,000 onwards for weddings of Rs 30 to 60 lakh, Rs 3,00,000 onwards for Rs 60 lakh to 1 crore, and Rs 5,00,000 onwards for Rs 1 crore and above. Venue, decor and vendor costs sit inside the family's own spend and are shown transparently. Weddings with a total below Rs 30 lakh are not taken on.
The two can work together. A family can sign a venue package and hire a planner to manage everything the package does not cover. The page on a wedding planner in Goa sets out the split of responsibility.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Which functions are covered, on which dates, and for how many hours each?
- What is the guest count behind the quoted figure, and what happens if it changes?
- How many rooms are held, for how many nights, and what are the release terms for rooms you do not use?
- Is the menu fixed? Can it be changed, and is there a tasting?
- Can we bring our own decorator, caterer, DJ and photographers, and is there a fee for doing so?
- What are the music cut-off time and sound limits for each space, and who enforces them?
- What is the rain plan, and does the package cover the covered space as well?
- Are taxes and service charges included in the stated figure?
- What are the payment stages, the date-hold terms and the cancellation terms?
- Who at the venue will be on site on the day, and who do we call if something fails?
Ask for answers in writing, and attach the inclusions list to the contract.
Comparing two packages fairly
Two quotes are rarely the same product. To compare them, make a one-page sheet with the same guest count, the same functions, the same nights and the same dates in both. Fill in each venue's inclusions, then add a line for every item you will need to buy elsewhere. A package that looks lower on the first line may need more on the lines below.
Do not compare packages on the headline figure. Compare on the full cost of the wedding you want, once decor, travel and the extras are on the sheet. The guide to wedding venues in Goa offers a longer list of venue questions to add to it.
When a package is enough and when it is not
A package suits a smaller wedding with a simple plan: one or two functions, a modest guest list, and a venue whose standard decor and menu you like. It can reduce the number of decisions.
It tends to fall short when the wedding has several functions, a custom design, outside artists, a large guest list with travel needs, or guests flying in from abroad. Those are the parts a package leaves outside, and they are the parts a planner handles. Share your dates, guest count and the functions you have in mind on the application page, and the team will say honestly whether the fit is right. Every enquiry is read personally, and the team replies within two working days.
